Default Pedersoli 1874 Sharps

I'm spiffing up my Pedersoli 1874 Sharps. I put a globe front sight on it and a Creedmoor syle tang sight both from Pedersoli. It originally had a ramp front and a flip up rear sight. I also made a blank for the original rear sight dovetail from an old muzzleloader front sight.
I have a load that shoots pretty good so I plan on taking it out tomorrow and see how well it will shoot after I get it dialed in.

A fine looking rifle. Need a range report to go with it. I love single shots.

You got it Wingbone. I took 2 rifles out today. This Pedersoli and a Win 94 in 32 Spl that I installed a new front sight on. After sighting the 1874 in @ 50 yards (all the taped holes) I got it zeroed, note the orange and black target repair stickers near the bullseye. I moved the target out to 100 yards, raised up the Creedmoor sight and shot the 3 shot group. I did some minor tweaking and shot another shot at a different target to confirm.
After being more than happy with the results I cranked up the sight again and took a couple shots at a 10" plate at 200 yards hitting it 2 out of 3 times! I was impressed. My load is 49 gr of IMR4064 under a home cast 405 gr paper patched bullet.
On a side note my little 94 was also shooting fantastic but my new bead front sight is too high. I got a .410" but need to get one about .310" My rear ramp is all the way up and I'm still 3" low at 50 yards.

Thanks. Surprised me too! I normally don't shoot iron sights that well. It was just a good day. The 32 spl shot great too at 50 yards. I just couldn't get it high enough. A new front sight is on order.
The Sharps is just for fun. No way I'm toting that thrugh the woods. It probably weighs inat around 13 lbs.
