Curious, dealer, internet, or just someone you know?

A response from my ISO on another forum actually.

He's a 99 collector, and found an nearly perfect one. This one has some bumps and dings, but I'm getting it to hunt with so I'm ok with that.

He's selling this one since he found a nicer one.

I'll get a post up about it when I get it. Hope I get it in next week sometime.

I have one in the .308. I haven't played with it much, but using dad's old ammo and a cheap Busnell it's only holding about 2" groups at 100. Is this pretty much the expected for these oldies or is it capable of better with modern optics and ammo?

I would guess most are capable of better.

My experience on these is limited to only two rifles though. And one is open sight.

2" groups can be frustrating on the bench, but they are more than sufficient for hunting at reasonable ranges.
