New scope for PC 460 S&W
Back when I got my 14" Performance Center Model 460, I was so eager to shoot it that I took my Nikon variable off my 300 Win Mag barrel. Earlier this week I noticed a similar scope at my local store, and decided it needed a home. So, my 300 Encore now has its old scope back. . .

I really prefer them to be within 20 to 25 yards, if not closer, but I have managed a few one hit kills at what I estimate to be around 35 yards. Estimate being an important word, since I've never actually used a rangefinder to determine the range to a squirrel.
