Hi , im looking to buy a new rifle but don't know what yet has fairly new hunter I'm just looking for something to round out my gun safe . Right now I'm only hunting moose , deer and grouse and looking to get in to something new . I currently own a Winchester model 190 .22lr , Marlin xt-22mr .22 magnum , HnR pardner single shot 12 gauge and a Remington 783 30-06 . Only must are inexpenvise ,reliable and accurate I don't care much for anything fancy basically best bang for the buck . Any suggestions ?

I've been thinking about a rem 783 .243 , Marlin 336w 30-30 (high side of my budget) maybe Even a maverick 88 pump 12 gauge but still not shure . I'm asking this cause my wife ask me earlier this week what I wanted has a Christmas present and immediately said gun but when she said wich one, I drew a blank . After boring my father in law 30-30 for a day I kinda fell for it but not shure if it's gonna be real useful already having a 30-06 but would make a nice bush gun or spare gun . On the other hand .243 might be good if I get into coyote and maybe my wife could use it has a deer rifle she been saying she like to come along for a while now . If there are any other calibers anybody thinking of let me know up for anything has long has ammo easy to find .

I'd tend to lean towards the .243win if it can serve double (or triple) purpose for you.
A .243win could take the place as your go-to deer rifle, could be your go-to coyote rifle, and could be your wife's deer rifle...
A 223rem would be my second choice, dedicated coyote rifle, but it wouldn't have as much versatility as the .243win.
I have much love for leverguns, but I'd go after a different cartridge than 30-30, since you already have a 30-06. 44mag or .45-70 would be good options. And when it comes to leverguns, remember the 3 M's - Make Mine a Marlin!

Dont worry i make very good money but racing is a bigger passion to me then hunting , so i put most of my extra money into my project car and leave's me with little to invest in hunting even though I also love it and from what I have seen you don't need to spend big money for a rifle to shoot anything and has your article points out the 783 is a great gun .
