.22LR ammo

It's a pain for sure. I got a box of 222rnds at Wal-Mart last summer, you just got to check every time you go in a ammo place. The only reason i got the box was a punk was complaining about them being Win hollow points, so i quickly asked to see a box. When i got the box, he said that he wants all 3 boxes, i just laughed at him and added it to my stuff. The clerk later told me that the same punk gets most of the .22 ammo every time it comes in, and resells it. This winter i was at the Hardware store and an Amish fellow was trying to buy the only 2 boxes of .22ammo. The owner said, "one box only, you ain't going to mark it up and resell them". I have to start checking again as my boys shot a bunch up this winter, and i'm running low. Good luck.

It's coming back around. Just gotta be patient. Larger towns seem to have enough demand that it's still harder to find there, but chain stores in smaller towns seem to be getting regular enough supply.

Maybe stop going to the box stores that will sell a whole shipment to a reseller and go to the local gun shops.
No I can not go into the couple local gun shops and by several thousand at a time but I can go in one and buy 200 rounds once a week. Another sells 100 to you once a week.
Usually CCI stuff or Federal gold metal stuff.

I got lucky and found a WalMart with some CCI MiniMag hollow points last year so the wife and I bought 6 boxes...I also heard Cabelas had some, so I put in an order...It took 6 months so I got another 300 rounds there...These are my preferred .22s for hunting so I'm good for several years now...

Last month I got 3 box's of winchester 333 at Wal-Mart. That's the first 22 ammo I seen around me. In January at cabelas in pa they had 22 cci 50 round box's and was only able to get 2 box's. What I can't find is 22 magnum. I only get the winchester super x hollow point. Haven't found them since last summer.

I've picked up some here and there as I found it. I'm guessing I have around 2000 rounds on hand right now which is about the number I like to have handy. I handload everything else so I can keep shooting for a good long time.

So I'm not driving there every day at store opening to check. Both have big signs on the gun counter that says...."No .22LR Ammo today".
I probably have enough Mini Mags for the next few months. What I desire next are the CCI Stingers or CCI Segmented in 32 grain. It's for a Smith & Wesson .22 pistol. I have a hunch it will not cycle the 40 grain versions well, from my magazine to chamber.
