I am thinking of getting a Tikka T3 Lite .223. The rate of twist can be either the 1-8 or 1-12. Which of these twists will shoot factory available ammo the best? I want to hunt turkeys with the gun>

The 1-8 will handle the heavy bullets and the light ones. 1-12 is better suited for ammo up to 60 or so grains. If I had a choice I would get the 1-8.

If you are going to use 55 gr bullets for turkeys the 1:12 will be fine if you want heavier bullets then the 1:8 is the way to go. I use 55gr8 rem sidekicks.for turkeys in my 223.
