What would be a better gun to use, a coil gun http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coilgun, or a rail gun http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railgun. What do you think is safer, uses less power to operate, makes less noise, more practical, easier to construct, and more likely to be used first. If there are any of these already made or in progress please feel free to give me a link or any other news about them. Could any of these be made into handheld guns in the future, or will they be restricted to cannons, tanks, and other non-handheld guns.
Update : One thing I have heard about coil guns is that the only thing that move when it is shot is the projectile, meaning that there would practicly no corrosion. That is different from rail guns which i heard corrode very quickly and can ruin the rails in as little as one shot. Is this true?
Update 2: Also Sinse both guns could shoot a bullet faster then the speed of sound, wouldnt there be a loud crack or bang, or make a sonicboom or something. I heard that they think rail guns could shoot at Mack 10, so that sounds like it would be loud to me. is it?

Neither are applicable in a hunting environment. You'll never even see anything like them for sale to the public. Any hand held application would be restricted to the military and will have no sporting use at all.
