The Marlin 60 is the highest selling firearm in history. There's a reason for that.

It may not be as 'customizable' as other models like the Ruger 10/22 (the second highest selling rimfire rifle in history), but the Marlin 60 is 1) reliable, 2) accurate, 3) handy, and 4) a tried and true classic in its own time.

My first 22lr rifle was a Marlin Model 99M-1, the Marlin 99 was a precursor to the M60, and the 99M-1 was a special model that was outfitted with a stock and sights made to look like a M-1 Carbine. I got another M60 for my 16th birthday, as I had asked for one that wasn't quite so abused (my granddad and dad had put a lot of miles on the old 99M-1). I have bought 4 other M60's since then, all still running just fine.

My 99M-1 has killed thousands of coons, my bday M60 has killed hundreds. Both have even killed a few coyotes over the years.

I personally clean and oil ANY/EVERY firearm I purchase before firing, and I recommend that as a best practice.

You will not be disappointed with your purchase.
