That said, I think I paid $300 for my Tracker 17 new, less for my 22WMR used, they run about $450 now. My wife just bought me a 4" Ruger SP-101 in 22lr, if it were a 6", I'd favor it over the Tracker. This little SP101 rimfire is a HOOT as a kit gun. It's plenty accurate, much better fit, finish, and machining quality. Naturally the small grip and the short sight radius make it a bit more difficult to put as much air under it, and it's only a 22lr compared to the WMR or HMR, but I really would recommend the SP101 over the Tracker unless you're dead set on a magnum rimfire or longer barrel. But to the point of the OP, really, $200 won't buy you a quality revolver, even used they're going to fetch more than that for a proper model in good form. |
