Default AR lower fix or scrap?

So a friend and I were assembling my first AR lower. We broke off an ear for the bolt catch. Is there a repair that's possible? The lower was around $60 (on sale). I have already bought a new lower and it has been assembled. Can the broken lower be fixed? Or will be repair be too much money for a $60 stripped lower? I've heard most AR's are made of 705 aluminum and cannot be welded (I wouldn't know I'm not welder). Is there any other option to repurpose the lower besides a paper weight?

Paper weight!

I'm guessing it's a forged not billet lower? Actually maybe it's a polymer for only $60...

Its a forged lower. It's normally $80.
