Default 22 LR ammo available

This may not be the correct forum, but I have seen quite a bit of 22 LR ammo at Gander and Cabela's sites this morning. Good prices. Time is of the essence if you want some.

Its funny, I live in the sticks and can find ammo, where as those who live in the city cant. Well, that is for common ammo; 22lr, 38 sp, 357, 40, 45, etc. etc.. What I can't find is Casull, 460, 8mm Mauser, 7.62x25 or any of the other uncommon rounds . Not even online.

I was in Gander yesterday, and I actually saw some UMC 9mm sitting on the shelf. Thought it was a mirage.

The LR ammo sold out at both Cabela's and Gander quickly. You have to give some of the big companies credit for selling at the best price that is possible.

You can almost always find ammo at two to three times the normal price (or more) from the internet scalpers by using gunbot. If you want reasonable ammo from the real companies you have to be quick when it is available..

Hi Folks,

I dropped into Gander Mountain today. I noticed that in their rifle ammo section, they actually had individual 50 round boxes of .22 Long Rifle ammo on the open shelves instead of behind the cash register area. These were CCI Standard Velocity 40 grain bullets. The price is $4.99 per box of 50. That's 10 cents per round. Ouch!

Two years ago, Gander got a shipment of Remington "Golden Bullets" (.22 Long Rifle Hollow Points, 36 grain) in plastic buckets. I am glad I bought one. The tub contained 1400 rounds and cost about $81 and change. That's about 6 cents per round. I still have about 1/3 of a bucket left. That was not a bad price back then and even better today.

When I was a teenager, I remember buying a brick (500 rounds) of Winchester .22 LR 40 grain ammo for $7.38 at the hardware store. That's a little less than 2 cents per round. LOL... Now, I am an old fart. Those were the days and I did not even know it.

Have A Great Day,
Ron
