The most accurate rifle I ever owned (so far) I bought new and just shot it, cleaning occasionally when the barrel got really nasty. This was years before I even heard of break in procedures. Cleaning was easy too.

My smith tells me that he has seen more barrels ruined by people who don't know how to clean a bore and/or using the wrong equipment (without a bore guide / metal gun rods).

I will repeat; "It's your gun, do that you want to it" !
