The prices at gunshows Do seem to be getting higher but you can still find bargains if you know what your doing . If you know anything about guns and have a idea of thier value you can make some great deals .An example of that ,I sold a Remington model 1100 at a show in Las vegas for $400 ,in excellent condition and bought two 1100's at another show for $425 a week later . Since then I have sold another one for $400 so I have $25 in the one I have left . I used to go to 2 to 3 shows a month and buy guns . But like someone posted if you don't know what your doing you can get burned .

the second gun show i went to i bought a gp-100 for $375. it was new. there was no wear on the gun, but now that i think about it i did just sorta bought it from him without thinking too much about whether it was actually used. especially since there were no good gun shops around here a year ago but i think a decent one just opened up. i couldnt find anywhere that sold pistols and revolvers. i think i will soon be in the market for a used blackhawk/super blackhawk/huntermodel. maybe even a new one. (that'll make my mom happy, i still owe my dad $150 for the gp-100.

on the gun show prices recently, i was talking to a guy at the range the other day and he talked to a few dealers and the prices are coming back down again from the surge of people buying after 9/11. He went to a show in october and there were NO deals at all.

If anyone gets screwed at a gun show then it's their own fault. You're buying from a bunch of used car salesmen and it's you job, not theirs, to know what a product is worth. There's a lot of overpriced junk at gun shows, much more than there are good deals. Good deals only happen once in a while and you need to know what's worth what before you get involved. I'm a dealer and I know what the price is on most of the new stuff when I walk through a gunshow. 99% of it is overpriced. However, a few weeks ago I bought a M70 classic stainless short action .243 in mint condition for $350. Another guy two aisles away had the same exact rifle except in not as good condition for sale asking $550. If you don't know what a gun is worth then you have no business trading at a gun show, a lot of folks get taken at them.

Personally I'm not happy with gun prices in general. I think alot of new guns are over
priced by about $50 to $100's depending on the grade of the gun. I still buy guns, even when I seem to find the best deal in my area I still think that the prices are a little high. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to get something for nothing it just seems ridiculous some times. As stated before, you definitely want to check prices at local shops before going to gun shows because some guys really jack up the prices. Just my humble opinion.

I rarely buy guns at gun shows, but I like to look around. I've noticed that it's mostly dealers, now, and they're over priced. I do, however, buy ammo at the gun shows. Particularly reloads for my pistols. Thay make for great plinking and practicing.

I looked at a couple of old ithaca doubles at the last one i went to the prices were right but one had a badly damaged stock it was a field grade and the dealer swore it was a grade 3 the other was in bad shape and they had no idea what they were talking about.
If you don't know exactly what your looking at don't bother buyer beware
