No first hand experience but why would anyone get a 783 when you can get a 700 ADL for around the same price?

Never looked at one until today. Seems like a functional gun. Info I read said it is chambered in 4 rounds, 308 and 3 long action rounds. I don't know if the 308 action is shorter than the others. Probably not if the goal is to make a less espensive gun. Also looks like Remington has followed Savage with the trigger and the barrel nut. Not that those are bad features. Anyway, the deer you shoot won't care one way or the other what you paid for the gun.
