Ridge Runner 01-30-2014 06:03 PM

RR

nchawkeye 01-30-2014 06:16 PM

Nope...Haven't bought any in 3 years...

rockport 01-30-2014 07:22 PM

I pretty much get it whenever I want in IL now.

Where are you at?

Most wal mart store get it in regularly. The trick is getting it patterned because people are still buying it all up.

JagMagMan 01-30-2014 07:25 PM

Still next to impossible to get here in SE Texas! what does come into the stores gets bought up by the early bird scrounges who are jacking up the price and selling it online!

Agreed. I was shooting last night at the range in Plano, and I believe they had a little available (end of a shipment, I assume).

CalHunter 01-30-2014 08:50 PM

The very few times I've seen it, they had a 2-box limit (as in two 50-round boxes). Whenever I ask any of the stores what they expect to receive, they say whatever shows up, they don't know what's being shipped.

rockport 01-30-2014 09:45 PM

Alright guys Ive been reluctant to share this but I have benefited greatly from it so I'll pass it along. Please don't abuse it and make the problem worse

http://ammo-can.net/stock/

Now you have to look every day for this to work. Ammo shows up on the sight about a day early and stays about a day late so you can't just look once and go get it. You have to pattern it for it to work.

Wal mart puts Ammo out at 7AM. It gets scanned when it goes on the truck and will show available but it won't be on the shelf until the following 7AM

The Ammo will be on the shelf the 7AM after it shows up "in stock" on this sight like clockwork.

Check the sight every day and be there the 7AM after the sight says its in stock.

It won't be there until 7 and it will be gone by noon or earlier.

Most people think this sight is inaccurate but once you learn how to pattern it its 100% accurate(or at least has been for me and the few people Ive shared it with)

nchawkeye 01-31-2014 03:18 AM

Rockport, is that for WalMarts only??

Bbj270 01-31-2014 03:42 AM

Rockport thats only the walmart by ypu. The walmarts that i go to 4 within 30 miles put it out differnt times so people dont flood in at one time. Iseen them put it out in the mornings midday and late at night. No 22 in a long time, if they get them in its the cci 100 round or if your lucky twice in a year winchester super x. I live 25 miles from a basspro they are same way. Whent to cabelas in pa about two weeks ago, the guy putting up ammo said they havent had 22 in the store for about a month.

im in central illinois near indiana and we cant get any...

Bbj270 01-31-2014 05:12 AM

I been in sporting good stores in va wv md and pa and cant find any 22lr. One walmart in md has about 30 boxs of cci and speer 22 magnum. You can find 17 hmr sometimes. But I haven't seen the 22 I shot the bulk federal 525 hollow points in about a good year.

Nomercy448 01-31-2014 06:25 AM

The 7am deal at Walmarts is corporate policy. If stores are doing something different, then that's a store specific deal, and it honestly surprises me (since Walmart has such tight regulation on platform-wide policy adoption).

I travel a lot, and often pick up supplies for work first thing in the morning. I've picked up .22lr in 5 states in the last ~4months using the 7am at Walmart trick.

Bbj270 01-31-2014 06:34 AM

The people at the Wal-Mart's I been to said they are told when a shipment of ammo comes in they are to put it out no mater the time so there is not a line waiting.

Ive actually used this in 3 different states and wal marts 100 miles away in my own stats and its worked every time once I learned how to pattern it.

Ferguson Outfitters 01-31-2014 09:41 AM

I'm having steady luck but no mother-loads. I only shoot CCI Velocitor.

I find enough 22lr using that sight that I only buy 1 certain kind.

I buy the federal 550 packs and shoot them out of 6 different guns.

Bbj270 01-31-2014 05:29 PM

I lying with the federal bulk hollow points. They shot good out of all the 22 I have but one ruger 10/22. That's ok one out of 6 ruger 10/22 that I have that want shoot the federal. I shot them in 16 22 rifles and a handful of handguns.

That is what I shoot and I'd have no problem getting 5,000 rounds a week using that web sight.

Bbj270 02-02-2014 03:22 AM

Was at Wal-Mart last night at 7:30pm they were p u ting out ammo 22 win super x.

nchawkeye 02-02-2014 02:36 PM

Scored 6 boxes this morning at WalMart for $7.47 a box...

Bbj270 02-02-2014 04:44 PM

The Wal-Marts by me still are a 3 box limit.

Bbj270 02-02-2014 04:52 PM

The lady at the Wal-Mart I got the super x from says they are only getting 22 one out ever 6 times they get ammo. If they get it they get one case of 22. They are getting more centerfield ammo then they had in a long time.

Did you use the sight or just happen to be there at the right time?

nchawkeye 02-03-2014 03:43 AM

Pure luck... :)

I had travelled with the wife this weekend to Greenville (where we went to ECU) to give one of my talks at the Down East Sportsman's Expo...Before we left town she wanted to go by WalMart to buy a couple of tee shirts for the grandkids...

I walked back to sporting goods and there they were...I refuse to buy any .22s, only what my guns prefer and it happens to be CCI MiniMag hollow points...

I bought my 3 boxes and the wife bought 3 as well... :)

I haven't seen or bought any in over 3 years and these will last me 5-6 years at least...

Bbj270 02-03-2014 04:09 AM

i only by what my gun shoots the winchester super x is for my dads 10/22.

blaZer_2 02-10-2014 01:02 PM

my Walmart had 12 100 round boxes today! thats the first iv seen in 3 years...

GRIZZLYMAN 02-10-2014 01:20 PM

I've got 7K of .22 LR. I got most of it during the summer at the local Academy a mile from my house by checking in frequently. Most of it is in bricks and it would usually be out on Thursday and Sunday mornings. Prices weren't unreasonable either. Most 525 round bricks were around $22. I paid $29 for a couple of 500 rd bricks, but they were in individual 50 rd boxes inside the brick. I haven't really checked it lately because I feel like I have enough and give someone else a chance to build their stock up.

I'll second this. I have a few thousand rounds of "off brand" stuff that I've picked up over the years in case we can't get it anymore at some point, but I only shoot 1) CCI Minimag's for hunting and 2) Remington Golden Bullet Bulk Crap for general nonsense. The bulk Remingtons are accurate, and function better than any of the other bulk crap, so even though I hate getting "gold thumb" and they run pretty dirty, that's all I usually buy. I've been buying a bit of other stuff lately just because it's hard to find it, but I don't buy anything in 50rnd boxes, just a waste of my time (except the Minimags, of course).

I shot some this weekend, only had about 3500rnds left in the locker of Remingtons, and I'm out of Minimags, so I'm not hugely motivated to seek them out right now. Hopefully things clear up in the next couple months and we get back to normal by fall.

Bbj270 02-10-2014 05:52 PM

I had the opposite of the remington golden bullet 22 they did nit run in any of my semi autos with out jaming a lest one magizen full. and they where not accurate in any of my guns I tired them in. I use the federal bulk in most of my 22. if I see the bulk remington I don't buy them to just buy them. only ferderals or win super x.

d80hunter 02-10-2014 06:09 PM

I seen .22 ammo last week while reloading supplies were out. Typical for this time of the year in my neck of the woods.

blaZer_2 02-10-2014 06:11 PM

iv had real good luck with rem. golden bullets their more acurate than me, I shoot plates at 125 yards... but I dont know about running good in semi-autos because i use a single shot bolt action.

Nomercy448 02-10-2014 06:26 PM

Most important thing for me choosing the Remington Golden Bullets is that I RARELY find one that fails to fire, will guarantee that it's less than one per box, as I've put up a few 1,500 round saturdays without a single fail to fire. They're dirty, so if you're not running wet, you might see jams, but in over a dozen 10/22's, 7 or 8 Marlin 60's, and a half dozen Ruger Mark II's, a Beretta Neos, and 4 Browning Buckmark's, I've had as good luck running them for feeding as any other brand.

I'll never shoot federals again. I see about about a 3% fail to fire rate from Federals, which doesn't seem like much, but when you burn up 1,500 rounds in a day and have 45 failures, that's not excusable.

Bbj270 02-11-2014 03:39 AM

I have the opposite the remington fails to fire about 1 out of ten. I tried to different box's and everywhere about 1 out of 10 didn't fire out of different guns. know others that had same results. heard some with great results. my gun Smith uses the winchester 333 but haven't seen them in stores.

Lunkerdog 02-13-2014 07:54 AM

For those who for whatever reason can't get Rocks method to work here's a place you can find them online.

You have to keep checking as the cheaper stuff sells out first... IMO some of the stuff available is pretty dang expensive.
