Default Winchester Model 71, Big Problem!

Problem is I am getting old!! Have a big challenge with the peep sight. Can't hit a bull at 50 yards now. Is there any solution that doesn't require tapping and drilling to install a scope? Any ideas would be appreciated. I have many guns but love taking this one out and harvesting game, brings me back in time. Thanks

Do you have other peeps to install in the rear sight? I know as I've aged I cannot use the small diameter peeps I used as a younger man. I need to use a larger opening. In fact, at last light I remove the peep altogether and use the theaded opening as my rear peep. With it's wider opening it allows me a better view in fading light.

Good luck

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say ... in an obviously too complicated manner!

Maybe it would be possible to adapt a fiber optic sight to fit your rifle. I have the same problem the older I get, any type of open sight is hard for me to focus. I put a set of Tru Glo sights on my 870 and now I can see my sights when I shoot.
