.300 WM is a great round for sure. I think its probably the most versatile big round when you look at all the aspects. IF I ever felt the need for something big, that is what I would get. As it is, my .280 with handloads will work perfectly on anything I'll likely ever hunt, including Elk. Post it up when you get it... :D

.338 WM if I in bear country - period. Want the .270 for deer exclusively and the .300 for elk. BTW - Always look for your posts also ! :happy0001: Man I am afraid to list em all....my wife might accidentally see this post... :busted: I have a 7MM...haven't shot it in ages, great round and flat as Kansas! I have really fallin in love with my 270 WSM...flat, fast, accurate and easy on the shoulder! |

I think I am going to pick up a 300 WM. This will be primarily for elk. I am more interested in accuracy than looks or weight.
Any suggestions? I find that the synthetic stocks are very nice to have on an elk rifle if you are going to a completely different enviornment for the hunt (VT to CO for example). |
If weight isn't an issue, gotta love a 700 Sendero... An All-class All-weather with style for miles...

I pulled the trigger on a Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 300 Win Mag. Looking forward to receiving it and found it for a great price, $506 delivered!

Nice I am sure you will enjoy it. I have shot the .300 a lot great cartridge.
Handload full house reloader 22 and a 180 Nosler Partition and Bingo. Meat in the freezer! Always worked best for me. I sold mine and now use a 300 wsm when appropriate I am very happy with it. |
