Good answer Wayspr!

Just one? Really. I think Wayspr's answer is about the best so far, but CURRENTLY my favorite is my old, non #-matching sporterized Swedish Model 94. I bought it at a gun show about 20 years for $175.00. It had no matching #'s, had been buggered a bit on the receiver where some bubba tried to start a drill and tap but gave up after scarring the reciever a bit. It had a pretty nicely fitted compact Bishop stock on it though. I went ahead and had Dick Williams in Saginaw Michigan drill and tap it and cut and turn a bolt for it. I kept the original bolt as I had a collection of many swedish rifle parts from years of collecting them. The rifle also received a Timney trigger and I had a Buehler style safety installed. The bore is fine and the chamber is good. With certain loads I can keep my shots under 1.5" at 100 yrds using a 5X fixed scope. The best I've found for it so far is Norma's factory load stuffed with the 156 gr Round Nose Alaska bullet.

It is light, quick pointing, shoots the venerable 6.5 X 55 round, and is a pleasure to tote and shoot.

Someday I'll save up and try to add a REAL Swede 94 to my collection. A fully military and complete model. They are getting harder to find, especially if you want it authentic and full matching.

But until that time I'll continue to enjoy carrying my sporter 94 for deer in the Michigan swamps and woods.

Of all I have in two safes it would be the Sako .243 and here is why---That's 9 shots, 8 of which you can cover with a dime.

That was at 50 yards when I put a new Leupold 4-12x40mm on it and after bore sighting it with the scope on 12x. The high shot was the fouling shot followed by the last eight. I'm terribly nearsighted and my eyesight is only correctable to 20-40 with my glasses on, so I needed to see what it would do where I could see good. My Dad used to shoot groups like that at 100 with factory ammo when he had it and I inherited it when he passed on 9/11/11. After knowing what it would do where I could see the target good I moved out to 100 and shot six more at this target. The gun will obviously do dime groups out there too if I could see good that far.
