My old Browning Auto 5. I love all the history that goes with it.

My favorite is my older (1998) Savage model 110 chambered in .308 (back in the late 90's Savage was not doing well, and was trying desperately to avoid bankruptcy). Back then Savage made *everything* as a model 110. .243, .25-06, .270, .308, .30-06, etc... They all shared the same wooden stock configuration. Savage just redid the chamber and barrel. For short actions, they just put a big "block" or some sort down in behind the magazine.

Anyway, my rifle just fits me like a glove. It is lethally accurate, doesn't kick as bad as a .30-06, and will still drop a deer right in its tracks.

If I were to have to narrow my rifle collection down to one single rifle for all my hunting I would toss out all my bolt actions and keep my Marlin Guide Gun .45-70. It is light, accurate enough, and will drop anything that gets in its way with my stout handloads from ground hogs to brown bear.

When you get to the point where you have more than a couple firearms, "favorite" isn't the right word. I have firearms that I like to use in certain situations. A Ruger 1 in 30'06 often accompanies me to a shooting house. An Abolt in 280 is the one that most often goes with me when I'm climbing a tree. A Rem 700 in 7'08 is the one I normally grab when I'm walking a creek bottom. A Rem 700 in 270 is a dream at the range but rarely sees field action unless my son uses it. A ruger 77 in ..................
