shotgun question

Alrighty guys. I have about 45 20 gauge rifled slugs. I have a mossberg 500 in 20 gauge. It has a screw in choke. I lost my modified and only have a full choke in it now. So shooting them out of my smoothbore is not really an option.
I just want to have fun and get rid of them shooting milk jugs at like 15-20 yards. I have a rifled barrel for it that i used and hated with sabots, tried lots of ammo and just couldnt get decent groups past 50 yards. I'm in a centerfire state so i never use slugs anyway.
My question is can i shoot rifled slugs out of a rifled barrel? im not worried about leading up the rifling or extreme accuracy. I got the barrel for free with the gun for $200 so im not worried about it. I just want to know if a rifled barrel will handle rifled slugs with out blowing up on me or what not. I see other people do it and actually get better groups with rifled instead of sabots out of there rifled barrels.
So safe or not?

yes you can use it, accuracy will not be great. I have the same shotgun with the rifled/cantilever barrel using Remington AccuTip 3" with very good accuracy, others I know use Lightfields
