7 mag is no biggie when it comes to recoil.

Gotta agree with Sheridan here. If you're asking about recoil, then you're asking the wrong questions...

Personally, I use an AR-15 for east texas hogs, either in .223rem or 6.8mm SPC. There are two "camps" of thinking when it comes to hog hunting, the vitals area shooters, and the smart shooters. Stick a bullet behind their ear from a 22cal centerfire, and they'll drop like a rock. Try to punch through the gristly shield protecting the vitals, you'll need something with much more punch. Why make life hard for yourself if you don't have to?

Frankly, if you OWN it, a 7mm Rem Mag will over-kill a hog just as much as it over-kills the current game you're using it on.

And yes, for normal hog hunting at the effective range of your average hunter, a 7mm Rem Mag has too much recoil to be worth the trouble.

I wouldn't spend a dime on a 7mag if you already have a .270, you don't need it.

With WV on this. For your uses, you'll have no advantage with a 7mag over the .270. If you just want another gun? Then go for it. But you don't need it.
