Default Howa rifles

So I'm looking for a 22-250. I'm eyeing the Howa 1500 Axiom in camo with a 24 inch 1-12 twist barrel. Has anyone had and experience with this rifle or just Howa in general. are they a good rifle? Quality? Any info will help for I"v never delt with Howa. Thanks.

Default Howa 1500

These are solid rifles. I have a Smith & Wesson (Howa 1500) that has provided excellent service and is very accurate. Howa produces the Weatherby Vanguard to Weatherby specifications also. If you buy it in the Weatherby form it comes with an accuracy guarantee. I prefer the Howa and it other forms to the Remington 700 & I have plenty of 700's. My last custom rifle was built on the Howa action so I think they are one of the best values on the market today.

My daughter and niece both hunt with Weatherby Vanguard's in .243. It's a solid, accurate rifle. Great rifle for the money.

Bottom line Howa manufactures good firearms.

A bit of research will reveal plenty.

I have a vaguard in .300 WSM and it's super accurate--I'm also a big Rem 700 fan and the Vanguard is every bit as good a gun as the 700---fit, finish, blueing, recoil pad and trigger are all top notch----John

I shot that rifle in a 223 a few weeks ago and the worst group it shot was 1 1/8" with Remington Express Core-Lokt and with his hand the best group was 1/2" The one I shot had a nikon buckmaster 4x12 scope. I am also thinking about buying one but in the 243. It is like every other rifle though some people like them some people don't. If you can look on-line for a gun shop or a friend that has a used one that they might let you shoot.

So I finally got my Howa today. It is sweet and shoots great. Shot Hornady ammo though it to try it out. Now I'm going to sit down and start making up some test loads for it. thanks everyone.

1 in 12" don't bother trying to reload bullets heavier than 55 grains.
