I would suggest before venturing on a hunting trip with an air rifle to check with your local DNR / DEC or game warden in your state.

I know the use of air rifles in the State of WV for hunting purposes are illegal.

If you check my posting history, you will find a bunch of airgunning posts I have made over the past few years including the hunting of wild boar, coyote, and bobcat.

Stay away from the Benjamin Rogue .357 until is has been proven out by someone other than a Crosman Pro-Staffer, or high-profile hunter. The reports from the average consumer are pretty negative. I believe they released this complicated rifle way, WAY to soon.

If you are looking at bigbore airguns, check out the SamYang offerings. I recommend sending any Korean airgun to SaddleMountainGunsmith for a power tune.

If you want to go all-out, look-up the XP-Airguns web-site and check-out the .45Ranger. AWESOME air rifle!

Your best bet is a PCP Air Rifle.. look at Talon Airguns go to ...TalonAirgun.com. They have a great forum & discuss all airguns.
They are Precharged Pneumatic (PCP) air guns.
I have a Talon SS .22 that Tony at Talon Tunes jazzed
up for me. A PCP airgun should be Respected..they are capable of causing death & injury just like a firearm!!

Start " pickin" some brains at the air gun forums. Good luck & have fun.

I have an RWS Model 52 and my father has the model 48. The RWS will shoot more accurately than you can shoot it. I've killed literally dozens of squirrels with mine. My dad is the same way, dozens of squirrels. The RWS is a very fine pellet rifle. I have a .177 and my Dad's is in .22. If I had it to do all over again I'd probably go with the .22. Check out the RWS line before buying anything else. Oh, and make sure you put some quality glass on them as they have some weird recoil. Mine has an RWS scope and my Dad put a Leupold on his, no issues with either.
