RE: Ruger M77/MKII

Hey You All, Many Thanks!

I think I will stick with the Ruger - I planned to float the barrel anyway. Sounds like I will have to have some trigger work done as well but the Ruger " feels" better in my hands than the Winchester or Remington. . . .Sako & Browning out of my $ range. Plus I like the Walnut. The 30-06 sounds like the way to go. I will hopefully have a Zeiss on top so i should be good to go.

Thanks again - you all are awesome.

Happy and safe hunting,

Tom

RE: Ruger M77/MKII

Tom,
Good choice.
I have owned Winchesters Remingtons and Savages and my current Ruger.
If I was going to buy another factory rifle I would buy another Ruger before the others.

All I have done is free float the barrel, I recommend it strongly. The trigger was fine from the factory, a tad heavy but not unacceptable and very crisp.

Mine is in 25-06 and is amazingly accurate after I floated the barrel.
