i have a 7mm mag and a 280. My wife shoots a 7mm08. I just got the 280 a year ago or so. I can use the same bullets to reload them all. the 280 I have is a rem 700 mountain rifle. It shoots great and is alot lighter than my 700 bdl 7mm mag. I don't think you can wong with a 280. The ammo may be harder to find but it is out there. good luck on your choice.
