Default Which 9mm for Christmas?

I'm looking at buying a 9mm for myself for Christmas. I'm just not sure which is "better" I just recently got the itch to start buying handguns. Got a little .22 to plink around alot but want to get a 9 then 40 then 45.
I know there are some serious gunners here so with pros n cons Which 9mm do you guys prefer?

Thanks
B

I'm partial to the SIG 226. Very accurate, and as reliable as a semiauto can get.

I was just making the same decision myself.

Brought this one - 5" Tacticle black in 9MM;

I love the XD's from springfield and the M&P from Smith & Wesson. I have both and they are both fine fire arms. What you need to decide on though is what you will be using it for. If you narrowed that down, we could probably help you more and give you much more specific replies.

Hard to argue with a Sig P226...one fine pistol. In addition to the ones already mentioned, I like Beretta 92's, any Glock, Ruger SR9, Kahr Arms, and the Sig Pros.

There are so many excellent choices it will really boil down to what feels best in your hand.

I believe that all of the weapons mentioned are excellent and it will come down to personal preference. Go to a local gun shop that will let you fondle as many as you like. Ask to see 2 at a time. Each time eliminate 1. The last one left is the keeper. I recently did this and left with an XD40 but the Smith M&P was a close second. You can't make a bad choice with Springfield, Glock, M&P, Sig etc.
