$500 for a used AR A2
#1
Hello all. I am thinking of buying the following rifle. I live in Phoenix so I will be able to check out the rifle before purchasing. As a newbie to the "Black Rifle" what I am wondering does $500-ish sound like a good price? This is a used rifle.

Thanks all for your thoughts.

Inspect it, shoot it and if you're happy with it ?
$500 is pretty good for a "starter" AR type rifle.
You could always sell it (Bushmaster has a good name in the market place), if you decide to upgrade down the road.

Sheridian: Thank you for your thoughts.
After sleeping on it I decided against it. Right now in Phoenix it is too hot to be outside rifle shooting. Well it can be done but it is not enjoyable. If the rifle was purchased it would sit in the safe until late September/October when the temperatures come down. By then I will have saved up about $800 and that will get me more gun.
Thanks again.

Robert,
I understand, I have family in Phoenix and it does get hot !
I'm putting together my first AR platform, and expect in the end will be $2,000 +
Mine will be a walking stick in 5.56/.223 for killin coyotes in SoCal.
BTW - I assume you can shoot them at night in AZ. ??
