RE: laser range finders
I've used both a bushnell and a leica borrowed from friends, but haven't used a nikon. Between the leica and the bushnell the leica is clearly superior. It's the one I would get if I were buying a rangefinder.

I looked at the Bushnell and the Nikon and went with the Nikon 800 . seemed a bit clearer . I had taken a friends Bushnell 600 hunting and had problems with it and was biased by that when I compared them .

when the bushnell first came out I bought one, it wasnt very useful for gun hunting because it wouldnt reliably read past 300 yds on a cold day. My buddy bought a tasco, and it was pretty much the same way. They both would read out to about 500 or 600 on a warm day with a highly reflective target, but in hunting situations they both sucked. Ive got a Leica now, and it will reliably read on just about any target surface out to 800. My opinion is dont waste your money on the bushnell or tasco. Never used the Nikon, so I dont know about it. The leica is much smaller too, small enough to fit in a jacket pocket. The bushnell and tasco that I used were too big to get in a pocket.

I have the Bushnell scout. Primarily for bowhunting. Works great for me and I have no major complaints. Small size fits nicely in the palm of my hand.
I did have the lens fog over on a cold somewhat wet morning once. Nothing new to me because I wear glasses and deal with fogging issues all the time. Wiped it and it was fine after that.

I have the Bushnell 600 with all the different settings.Have never had any problems with it. Went to one of our ranges to shoot on the 100yd range and found out it was only 97yds. It was worth the price to call the range officer on it. After they taped it off I was wright, and it got moved back 3yds. My vote Bushnell

when i can afford them i was leaning toward nikon. but its funny some dont like bushnell and some do. leica is a possibility . you can spend as much or more on these than you do for a scope. i just wanted to get other peoples opinions. i had a dist. recommend nikon over bushnell. they have more complaints with bushnell. but you do pay more for the nikon. you get what you pay for , i learned that with trashco scopes but that would be another post.
