Is anyone aware of a scope mounting system for the ruger vaqureo' s? There are no adjustable sights on mine, and had no intention of needing such an item when I bought my .357. But now I am considering going on a deer hunt in the U.S with a pistol. Thanx for the input.

Hi Pharaoh2
I believe you could drill/tap a vaquero, but why bother? You could never give it away in the future (ok, you could give it away) and are kind of " killing" it for its most popular use, CAS with .38. I wouldn' t even think of taking a small bore single action hunting, and .357 is illegal for big game hunting in many states anyway.
I think you would be better off selling it and getting something more appropriate.

I once owned a Ruger Super Blackhawk and wanted to mount a scope on it, but I could not bear to drill into the top strap, so I sold it to my cousin and purchased a Ruger Super Redhawk. Good luck.

Don' t ruin your Vaquero. Buy yourself a Ruger Redhawk or SRH . The SRH scope rings are standard. The Redhawk comes with or without the cut outs for the Ruger Rings. The 45Colt, 44 mag and 454 Casull are much better for hunting then the 357 mag.Like mentioned in some states the .357 is illegal for hunting.
