Itch scratched...my "new" gun
Had an itch for another rifle and I've posted question about ammo, scopes, bases, and stuff for it. Well I have it pretty much done.
Got a Winchester Model 70 stainless featherweight in 6.5x55. Came with a substandard plastic stock so I replaced it with a Hogue overmolded stock with the sporter contour and the full aluminum bed. The fit is really good and I think I'm gonna like the stock. Kinda makes it a little heavier though, but at least it will kick less. Wasn't gonna kick much with the Swede anyway. I have a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 attached to the gun with Leupold dual-dovetail bases and Leupold low mount rings. I got one of those rubber Quake rifle slings. I'm really psyched about hunting with the 6.5x55 Swede and this gun makes a perfect back-up/swap-off gun for my Browning A-Bolt Stainless Stalker in 7mm-08. |

Sounds like a sweet setup, with reloads that gun will do about anything you want it to...

Thanks. Can't wait to shoot it.

That is a fine rifle, and the 6.5 Swede is a very under appreciated cartridge as well, congrats!
