need help with 25-06
gettin a heavy barrel in 25-06 fer my 12 y/o daughter.
wondering about a good twist rate for around the 500 yard range.
she is 4-5 inch groups at 300 yards with her rossi 223..but i can only get about 3 inches outta it at 300 myself...im heard when i start loading my own, i could fix this, but have decided to have a rifle made in 25-06 and start reloading with-in months of each other...not necessarily out with the 223 rossi, but certainly on the back shelf til my 7 y/o can shoot it.
open to ideas about actions, stocks and barrels, whatever else i might be forgettin.
thx fellas

A 10 twist can handle anything a 25 can offer. The wallets the limit on the rest. From a stevens in plastic to a nesika in a mcmillan I'd take a good trigger for starters, as that, IMO makes a good bit of difference.

So, what's she going to use it for?
Heavy barrel = heavy rifle. That might be great from the bench or out in the beanfield or from a blind, but it she's going to carry it at all, I would advise you to look at a lighter taper barrel.
