Default Talk me out of a sako 85 syn/stainless?

Looking for a quality factory rifle.

I'm really thinking about the sako 85 in syn/stainless in .300 wsm

5 shots in 1 inch, and just the quality I've heard about sako's has me curious.

My thinking is kinda for an all around in a fairly handy setup, probably will use it in the future for sitka blacktail on kodiak, caribou, maybe an elk, etc...and if the thing shoots amazing perhaps use it on everything, antelope, deer, I know it's overkill for antelope/deer, but if it's more accurate than a 243/270 why not right?

No reason to not get it. Sako's are fine guns. I've got a 75 I've had for several years...love it. As a matter of fact, I'm looking at a Finnlight right now.

If I were getting a 300 I would get the WM not the WSM. If you reload you'll have a lot of advantages. It will be cheaper to shoot whether you reload or not.

Also the 300WSM is overkill for deer and it will matter. Wait till you see what it does to them. I learned my lesson. Too much meat loss.

I only use my 300 WM when I'm shooting long distances. Like beyond 300 yards.

For the rest I stick with the lowly .30-06. LOL.

Sako = Quality

Model 85 - one of their best !

I own a A7 in synthetic stainless (7MM RM) & love it.

Also recommend .300 WM not short mag unless you're a reloader.

Great cartridge for long range BIG game hunting !

I'd talk you out of a Sako A7 or Tikka T3 but NOT a 85!! That is a sweet rifle and the stainless/laminated stock version is to die for.

I thought I wanted one before, now you guys are making me really want one!

I do like the looks of that laminated stainless, but I am looking for something a bit lighter handier like the syn/stainless.

I have a 75 in .260 that is a peach. I'm wanting one of the laminated/stainless, now, Grey Wolf I think it's called.
