Default Brass shavings on my ar bolt.

I was cleaning my ar 15 today and noticed brass shavings on the bolt. I was wandering what may cause this? Maybe the fact that my gun is newer and the parts and still not worn in? I have shot some 5.56 out of it and .223. maybe the higher pressure of the 5.56 caused it? anyone have any ideas?

I get that most often from military ammo, less from factory reloads, and none from my own reloads.
It's never been an issue that's given me cause for concern, so I'd say it's the same for your situation.
Had it lots while pumping hundreds of rounds downrange in the Marines too...
Relax, don't worry, and go shoot!

Are you shooting the rifle wet or dry?? Especially since it is new? I shoot mine wet with SLIP2000. Tom.

Ok, thanks for the info. And I shoot it with a good coat of CLP.
