I have no experience with barska optics, but they don't seem to get good reviews. I would stay away from it personally. Under $300, probably vortex viper or burris ffII or used leupold

Try the Nitrex by Weaver. I just bought one and really like it. I found it at Nacthezss.com and it comes with 100.00 rebate on the TR2 and 50 on the TR1.. I got a 4x20x50 BDC TR2 for 406.00 shipped plus the 100 rebate puts it right at 300 bucks. I think it is just as good as my Leupold and Nikon.

I have a Weaver classic 4x16x42 on my 22 250 and like it a lot. I havent tried the Nitrex but their prices at Natchezss.com is really good on them right now.

From what I've read about barska I don't think I'd put one on my rifle if you bought it and gave it to me.

Haha thanks everyone!

Decided to order this rifle:

http://www.ruger.com/products/m77Haw...tor/index.html

I have an old scope at home that I will use for a few months (to gather some more money) and then I'll probably swap it with a Bushnell Elite 4200

http://www.bushnell.com/products/sco...pes/elite4200/

Tried it yesterday and for the money it seamed like a good choice.

What y'all think?

Thanks for your help by the way!

I agree, that will be a very good rifle and very sharp looking at the same time. Every Ruger I've had has been at the least reasonably accurate and 100% reliable. That would look good with a silver scope on it-I'm certain that some of the higher end Bushnells can be had in silver--here is a couple shots of my Remington set up that way------
