Default Using a boresnake ques...

I got a free Hoppe Boresnake at a sporting goods store. Never used one..

for those of you who have, do you need to put solvent on it (bore cleaner) or do you use it dry out of the package..

I use Break Free on the end with the brush and pull it through 3-4 times.

I clean the firearm with a traditional rod/brush/patch from the chamber end. When I have it cleaned, I will run the Bore Snake through it three or four times before I oil the bore for storage. Be sure to clean the bore again to remove the oil before firing.

I use two per gun;

one with solvent
one with oil (light)

Works great !

Detail cleaning once a year.
