Here's a link to two pages of posts on .300 Magnums.....for those that want to take the time to read several folks "experiences"
It covers WSM, H&H, Win Mag, and RUM as well as others!

I have shot the 300-R.U.M. in a stainless synthetic Model 700. The kick was hard, but if you learn to manage recoil it is worth the pounding.
I have a 340-Weatherby that kicks hard, I love to hunt with it because it is light to carry and does a number on elk.

Why don't you just tell us about your own PERSONAL experience with the 300 Ultra mag??? How did yours shoot at the range? How far did your first elk run after you shot it with YOUR 300 ultra mag??? What kind of groups were you getting at 500 yards?? That's what I thought! JEEEEESH!
