I agree with Dan 100%.Fit is everything.That being said it is hard to beat a .243.If you don't reload there are lots of good options in ammo .Reloading just makes it sweeter.Factory =federal premium 100 grain or Hornady custom 100grain .Reload I like a 85 grain sierra bthp gameking.Have not tried any ballistic tips out of my .243s.If the fit is right and with a good high quality recoil pad the caliber choice increases greatly.I made the mistake of talking my wife into shooting my Savage 110 in .270 win. Almost caused her to quit shooting all together.Someting about the rake and comb in those rifles that cause them to kick like a mule (even in .243).JMHO.....Alton
