Default trade question.

I was looking through hoosier topics today and saw a intratec tec-9 for sale. He is asking 425 firm. He said it shoots good and looks good for a tec 9. I have a few concerns. I shot one of these when I was 15 and the things jammed like a hi point but worst. I think the one I shot had been played with to make it full auto and someone had no idea how to do it. You had to hold it side ways about 1/2 way from vertical to gangster grip . If not the shells would not eject out right.
I asked about a trade. He told me he would give me 165 for my2 year old mossberg 500 wood stock with the gold trigger and 210 for my ruger 10/22 I bought in july. Ends up me owning him 60 bucks. I do not need the shotgun I like shooting the 22 but Even though I do not need either I DO NOT REALLY NEED the tec 9 just want one.
But I do not want to get screwed or end up with a junk gun. He did say I could shoot it at a range.
What are your thoughts on the tec 9 and what is it worth.

dont know what its worth but never heard anything good about them...just not a real high quality piece..

if you want it...goto the range and shoot it..see how it functions for you...

hes actually giving you a bit more for both guns than i would...i can pick up used mossbergs for 135 all day...210 for a stock/factory 10/22?? pretty sure you can buy a brand new one for about that....so unless you got money into it, thats a steal...

but dont know what the tec9 is worth...other than a paper weight lol...

Of all the guns I could spend money on or trade for it sure as hell wouldn't be for a tec-9.

Well Big Tim, I think you got your answer. This was the first post of yours that didn't have to be translated from pig latin. Much better, hope your grades are moving in the upward direction......

Plus another.

The barrels on these seperate and have to be restaked after several rounds. The triggers (if that is what you call them ) suck!
My 2 cents stay away from these

I thought the Tec 9's were a cool looking gun that looked like it would be a lot of fun to shoot. That's until I started reading more about them. I've read quite a bit about them and I've not heard a single good thing about them. Them jamming all the time seems to be the least of the problems. I probably wouldn't trade for it as you have two decent guns already.

I wouldn't simply because other than the look of em, tec 9s really aren't good for anything. You can't hunt with them, you can do just as well defense wise with a 9mm semi-auto pistol Also, if you have an AR and your 12 gauge you've got the defense area covered. Other than the "gangsta" look I can't really see any benefit to trading. So Don't trade. you'll be happy you didn't.

Dont do it! Keep the ruger and mossy! You'll get much more use out of them
