I have a a-bolt .280 in synthetic stock that i bought with grass cutting money when i was 14 years old. I even studied ballistics and pick out the caliber. I'll have it till the day i die, unless i give it to my kid. Its kinda been rode hard and put up wet over the years. I am 32 now. At some point i'd like to fix it up. What would yall do to make it look new again. Or would you leave it alone, for it definatly has "character"

Character ain't bad. But if you wanted to go for looks you could replace the stock, re-blue, jewel or polish the bolt.. your imagination is the limit

I would have it teflon coated by blackice coatings, and have the stock camo dipped. cost around 300$ but it would probably look brand new and be pretty much indestructible.

I'd leave it alone unless it shoots like crap. Maybe invest in better glass if what you have isn't so hot. I redid a Model 70 that now looks like a museum piece....and there she sits. Hate to ding up the stock after all that work.

lots of good memories in how u got those scratches. clean it and take good care of it. plus new stocks or stock refinishing can get pricy

I have the a A-bolt Composite Stalker in 280 also. Mine was probably in a similar condition when I bought it.... looked rough but shot great.

I did a do it myself camo paint job a few years ago when it started looking really beat up. Now it looks as good as it shoots. I've even done a few a couple of friends... gives an old rifle a fresh new look. I'll never part with it.
