Welcome Ray! Quite a few folks on hear use them. I think they are o.k. and some shoot pretty well. I'm sure the triggers aren't the best though. Good luck.

We have one in .223 and a friend has one in a .243. They both shoot surprisingly well. For a inexpensive rifle you can't really beat them.

They are actually really good shooting guns. I've shot several and have been surprised with accuracy. Trigger's aren't horrible on the ones I've shot. Good simple gun to start hunting with.

My Handi .243 shoots a 1" group with fed power-shok 80gr bullets. It hated winchester pp 100s. I have "heard" they shoot the federal fusion 95s and fed power-shok 100s very well also.

My son used one for years with good results. You will probably need to just go ahead and have the chamber polished. sometimes they are a bit sticky on ejecting.

We have one in .243. My son shot a nice 8 point this past season at 117 yards. Right thru the shoulder. I was surprised the deer was that far, but he made a good shot. Shooting Hornady 100 gr soft points. Its a youth model and is light weight, although it has a little pop to it. My 2 oldest kids, now 11 and 12, have used it for 3 years now without any complaints.
