I read his post twice and it didn't make sense either time.

I have a 13.5" to 27" that I used to use all the time, it was a bit uncomfortable to use in the prone position. I then bought a 9" to 13" I love it and almost never get out the old one. Both are Harris and both swivel. The swivel is great and well worth the extra $$. I don't think I would like the 6" to 9" for hunting, off the bench it would be great but walking int he field for varmints is a different story. I never wished my 9" to 13" would go lower but on many occasions I have rasied it up from the 9" position.

I use a 6-9" Harris bipod for bench shooting, at 6" it's a bit too low for benchrest, but 9" is a bit too high. The Harris has a knob to friction lock the legs at an intermediate position, but it's not quite as stable. That said, I'd get the 13" and use more rear bags. The 13" version will be more versatile.

I have little use for the shorter versions in the field. I have the tallest pivoting Harris variety and would never have gone with anything else for a hunting bipod. Can I use it on the bench? NO, but I can make do prone on the ground even if it is a bit high. I don't lose any appreciable accuracy from it. But when I need to shoot sitting, it gets me up high enough and is WAY more convenient (and SOLID) than sticks.

I just purchased the Harris 9-13" swivel set from Cabelas. Thanks everyone for posting and helping me decide.
