Remington 700 detachable mag conversions
I have seen them before but they are hard to find. Anyone have any good info or links for detachable magazine conversions for Remington 700 rifles? I have the 700 XCR so I don't know if I can match up the satin finish??

I suspect that your problem with the hinged floor plates it that the shells dump out when you unload the gun.
Flip the gun over, open the floor plate and put your hand over the mag well, flip the gun back over and drop the rounds right into your hand.

I was looking into the magazine kit as well, but I kind of like how slick my action works and how well the cartridges feed with my 721 in 270. I had a Winchester 670 in 270 and it fed like crap and bugged me to the point that I just got rid of it. This Remington is a much nicer gun.

I have no problem with the operation of the hinged floorplate. I just prefer a detachable magazine. I have not been able to find any that fit a 300 WSM anyway so I will have to get used to it.
