Default Iver Johnson .410

When I was growing up I learned to hunt with a single-shot Stevens .22 (pull back bolt-hammer) and an old Iver Johnson single-shot .410 that had belonged to my Grandpa. I really loved that old gun and brought home many a squirrel and rabbit (and a few quail) taken with it. The gun got handed down to one of my older brothers after my Grandpa and Father passed. Anyone out there have any information on that particular gun (history, etc.)?

The first gun I ever owned. Handed down from my grandfather to my father to me. I don't history much history on the gun per se but that particular one had a huge history in my family. I know others that have them as well. They are notorious for having a broken buttplate/recoil pad. Also most of them are chambered 2 1/2" and are so marked. They will however accept a 3" shell.

I do remember the chamber on this particular one was marked for 3" and I beleive it said "Patent Pending 1904" if I remember correctly.
