Remington model 700 .270
Remington model 7 .308
Tikka T3 .30 06


what would you guys (who own these guns) reccomend. Im really thinkin about accuracy though.

Well if you're looking at a slightly compact gun, then the model 7's the only choice. You can get T3s pretty light. My favorite would be the 700.

I think you have to go out and pick up each of these rifles and see what fits you the best. As far as the three you picked I can't see you being disappointed in any of them they are all fine quality rifles that will give you years of enjoyment. One thing I will add though I was in the same situation as you about a month ago and was really interested in the Tikka T3 but after shouldering it, it just didn't feel right nothing bad about it just not right for me. I ended up with a Browning X bolt in 270 win. and couldn't be happier but that doesn't mean it is the right choice for you.

i use a rem 700 30-06 i like it.. its kinda messy with the meat sometimes but it gets em down with the first shot

Almost leaning toward a 700 (.270) because ive seen my buddy shoot clovers with his from 100yards all day.

Can't go wrong with a Remington, actually been thinking about picking a a Model 7 in 308 myself, some days I just don't feel like carrying my magnum. Never owned a .270 myself but know plenty of guys who do and they all seem to love it. Agree fully with hmbeal, as far as fit and feel your just gonna have to handle each gun and go with what feels right. Should be very pleased with any you listed, especially if reloading. As hmbeal said they are all fine rifles. However, if one of them doens't fit right it will be miserable to shoot. If possible try to shoot a few rounds through each before purchase.

I have owned three Ruger M77's all were good rifles, shot well and handled well, the first two didn't fit very well (30-06, and 308). My third (7mm Rem. Mag.) was the perfect fit.

Yeah, you need to shoulder the guns and see which one talks to you and fits right. There is no point buying a gun on what other people say is accurate if it never feels right to you.

I agree, fit and feel are the most important thing to selecting your firearm. Now if for example a remington feels as good as tikka to you in hand & on the shoulder, then by all means use opinions of your buddies or others to help you choose.
