Default Which way to go!!!

Here is the current delima. My son and I both need to pick up a new rifle within the next week or two. I am getting rid of my pride and joy 7mm-08 for personal reasons and am planning on getting two 3006's. My son likes the Savage so that is covered.
Here is my problem. I can get a new Weatherby Vanguard for $400.00 or for about the same money get a used Husqvarna. I have always enjoyed guns of european make, but never owned one.

What do you guys think?

I'd get another 7mm-08...Less kick, less fuss, same results...Heck of a round...

Those Vanguards aren't half bad. I'd lean in that direction.

Get a Vanguard if that's what you want.

too bad you have to get rid of that 7mm-08, perhaps get another but a vanguard in that caliber?

how about a .270 for yours and a .30-06 for his? not sure I'd want 2 in the same caliber, but if so get 1 of each, get what you like, and get what he wants. Least you two can share ammo then if both rifles like the same loads...

I'd consider a different cartridge perhaps though, a .243, 7mm-08, 25.06 or 270...good luck.

Buy a Thompson Center Venture it shoots unbelievable. Don't take my word though do a search and read the praises on this gun. Thompson guarantees 1" or less groups at 100 yrd. My venture shoots five shot 3/4 inch groups with factory Hornady ammo. You can cover the groups with a quarter, GREAT GUN. And by the way I got mine for $440.00, best gun you can buy for the money
