I have this old gun.
 

My wife's grandfather passed recently. When we were cleaning out his house we found a couple of old guns. One of them is an old Browning .22. I think it is a T-bolt. The other is a side by side. Exposed hammers[ like the really old side by sides
had]. It is .22 on one side and 410 on the other. My father in-law couldn't find a name on it. It looks to be very old. Any thoughts on the second gun?

Pictures please and maybe post anything it may say on the firearm.

If you could post a pic that would help, .. but anything printed on the barrel or action or any distinguising marks would be helpful ... also if there is a serial # don't post the whole thing ..

If the serial # were 123456 for instance just post 123XXX

I'm intrigued by the description of this being a side by side in 410 and 22 , you didn't mean over and under in 410 and 22 did you? Or is is a drilling set up with 2 410's side by side and a 22 either over it or under it? Just curious as I've never seen a side by side as you mention ... but I learn stuff every day

Still trying to get info. My father in-law works third shift so it is hard to catch him awake. The way it was explained to me was a side by side. one barrel was .22 and the other was 410. Not an odd combo but certainly an odd configuration. My first post was a little misleading. I still haven't seen the gun. It was found after we left the house. I am going up there next friday night. I hope to get more info then.

Update!!!! I finally have the gun in my hands. It is not a .22/410 combo. One side says 6mm and it is rifled. The other side say 9mm and it is smooth bore. Both sides appear to be rimfire. The only other markings that I can find appear to say "Fiocerl". There is also a "B" and a "G" stamped on the gun.

A picture would be great .. but see if you can remove the gun safely from the stock without damaging it. If you are afraid of damage then don't do it .. but look around carefully so see if there are any other distinguishing marks or writings on the hidden portions of the metal or the wood.... if there is a buttplate see what's underneath ....
You say it appears to be a side by side marked 6mm on one side and 9mm on the other? Which side is the 6mm and which side is the 9mm? 2 triggers or one? And you seem to think it is a rimfire and I guess you believe this because of the firing pin set-up when you break it open?

I tried looking up "Fiocerl" on the internet and in my books BUT NO LUCK....

I couldn't get the pics to load. I took one with my phone but it isn't clear. As you are holding it , the right side is 6mm and the left is 9mm. Yes to the firing pin question. It has two triggers. I have no doudt this is a foriegn gun. Maybe Italian or French? I have no idea. I couldn't find anything in an online search myself.

I think that what you have might be a Flobert garden gun. It is the only gun I found that has a 6mm rifled/9mm smoothbore side-by-side. I found many references to it with some creative googling. It'd be a good place to start.

You must be spot on as I can't think of anything I've ever seen or heard of that has this set-up, and the internet showed me the same thing you mention now that you did the detective work.
