You must be spot on as I can't think of anything I've ever seen or heard of that has this set-up, and the internet showed me the same thing you mention now that you did the detective work.

On the 5th link make sure you scroll to the top of the page to see a good pisture of a weapon .. maybe it will look a bit like your gun

I am sure that is the right type of ammo. The gun looks alot different though. I will need to do some more searching to find it.
