I think the 7 wsm's a helluva round just cant afford to build a custom rifle in a caliber i dont have the need to hunt with, 280 AI pretty much covers florida

I own a 300 wsm and love it. that being said I would also love a win mag. the question is what are you hunting? its like comparing a .308 and 30-06 only less difference in velocity. actually.... what bullet weights are you wanting to shoot??? the wm works better if you want to shoot the 200 gr and up if you are shooting 180's or lighter the wsm comes close to matching it in performance. I handload for mine and I do appreciate the performance while using less powder. that being said if I was dead set on a 190-220 gr bullet the win mag would be my choice. the only other thing to consider is rate of twist. if the barrel doesn't like the heavy bullets neither cartridge will shoot them accurately. mine likes 165's and just shoots them better than the 180's I wanted to shoot. not for lack of velocity but accuracy. it now shoots better than .5 moa with the 165 accubonds. which will take down anything that will be in my crosshairs. buy what you like, or what you find a deal on. both are great rounds and you will love whichever you choose.
