.22 recomendations
I'm looking into buying a 22LR that I can shoot with my daughter (she's 10 yrs old)...something affordable, but solid and reliable. I've seen the Remington Model Five, which I liked, and was wanting some input on other recommendations. Thanks.

RE: .22 recomendations
As much as I like Ruger 10/22s, I'd have to go with a bolt action or even a single shot when teaching someone new. It will force them to make the 1st shot count. Look at the various bolt actions. I'm trying to remember who used to make a bolt action repeater with a removable single shot adapter. I think it was Remington.

I have not seen the Remington Model five. I have heard great things about the Model Five.
I own a Remington Model 580; mine is a single shot that shoots shorts, longs or long rifles.
I also own a Ruger Model 10/22 that is chambered in 22-mag.
Both of my rifles are good shooters but I think they stopped making theRemington Model 580?
