RE: 30-06 vs 7mm rem mag

You are one weird dude!

Where did I ever claim "superior trajectory" for the 06.
Where did I post that you did claimed "superior trajectory" for the 30-06.?

What I did post was.

You are the one that brought the 30-06 light magnum loads into this thread to try to convince people that they give the 30-06 a trajectory equal to that of the 7mmremmag,
I don't see superior used in regard to the 30-06,do you?The word that I used was "equal".

You are one weird dude.:D

For what you described just about any rifle will do. No magic bullet is required to kill a deer at that range. I've got a Remington 700 in 30-06 that will shoot MOA groups with 150 grain core-lokt PSP factory loads. They're $12.99 a box, will kill deer as good as any other round, and you can sight it in so that you won't have to worry about bullet drop. Heck, evena 30-30 with lever-revolution ammo would work just fine.

the name says it all...my freezer is my "Proof"...once you try a 6.5 or 6 and a half as a swedish friend of mine calls it...nothing else is needed...accurate enough to decapitate grouse too, which really hones your marksmanship I might add...Factory or handloaded ammunition either are superbly accurate, and deadly, without alot of muzzle blast and recoil...BUT if you are restricting yoursellf to an 06 or 7mag...I would say 06, no contest
